Tax Documents and W9 Information
Tax information

As a rental property owner receiving income through The Parcel Company, there are tax reporting requirements to be aware of.
W9 form
During onboarding, you are asked to provide your W9 information:
- Full legal name (or business name if applicable)
- Tax Identification Number (SSN or EIN)
- Address for tax purposes
- Entity type (individual, LLC, corporation, etc.)
This information is used for tax reporting purposes.
1099 forms
If your total payouts for the calendar year exceed the IRS reporting threshold, we will issue a 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC form. This is typically mailed or made available digitally by January 31 of the following year.
What you should track
We recommend keeping records of:
- All payout amounts (available in your Financials page)
- Property expenses (maintenance, improvements, supplies)
- Mortgage interest and property taxes
- Insurance premiums
- Any other deductible expenses
Updating your tax information
If your tax information changes (new EIN, address change, entity restructuring), send a message to the Parcel team so we can update your records before the next tax reporting period.
